Greetings from the Platinum Sponsor
Platinum Sponsor: Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (JCCI)
The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (JCCI) was established in December 1992 and currently (as of September 9, 2025) has 824 member companies. To improve the business environment for Japanese enterprises in Vietnam, JCCI continuously listens to and gathers opinions from its members, and regularly engages in dialogue and negotiations with the Government of Vietnam. In addition, JCCI actively organizes various activities to strengthen connections among its members, promote friendship and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan, enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, and improve the living environment for the Japanese community in Vietnam.
The JCCI Ekiden Relay Race is one of those outstanding activities.
This event is a traditional Japanese-style Ekiden race, organized by JCCI in Vietnam as the Platinum Sponsor. First launched in 2016, the race aims to become a playground that fosters team spirit and promotes a healthy lifestyle. Except for the two years 2020 and 2021, when it was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the race has been held annually for JCCI member companies and related partners.
In 2024, the race attracted 186 teams, with a total of 930 participants.
Ekiden is not simply a long-distance relay race. Each Tasuki sash carries determination, team spirit, and a sense of responsibility, passed from one runner to the next, as they work together toward the finish line. Whether Vietnamese or Japanese, male or female, director or employee—once wearing the Tasuki as part of an Ekiden team, everyone stands equal as true athletes. Each individual becomes the main character in their own story. We believe that the stories written here in Hanoi will remain as beautiful memories for every participant, and that the race itself will serve as a symbolic “Tasuki sash” that connects people beyond national and cultural boundaries.
Join us as a JCCI member or partner, and let’s run Ekiden together!
